Is this considered CRAWLING?? If you ask me, YES!

So what's funny is that I just posted yesterday about Jorja turning 9 mos. and how I was concerned that she wasn't crawling.  And to be honest, I had pretty much made up in my mind that she was going to go straight to walking but, low and behold, out of NO WHERE she starts to do this today...
Now, I don't know - some of you may not call this crawling because she isn't technically on all fours and flying across the living room but I don't really care what you think (actually, if you know me at all you know I care what everyone thinks - haha) but, I'm a proud Momma and say my girl hit another milestone today and praise the Lord I was there to see it! However, I think after watching the video you will notice that the Dr. was right - that belly is quite a hinderance - it could be a while before she lifts that thing off the floor. HA!

9 months old

I can hardly believe it but my "little" girl is now 9 months old. Time is flying by WAY too quickly - I am barely able to cherish all the moments I have with her because they go by so fast. AHH! We went to the Dr. for her 9 mo check up and she is weighing in at a whoppin 23lbs, 12 oz. YIKES! The Dr. said she was "off the charts" at over 100% for her age group. What can I say? I produce straight cream and she LOVES her fruits and veggies. I'll take a good eater and chunky baby any day of the week vs the alternative! :) She hasn't grown in height all that much since our last check up. She is 27 & 3/4 inches tall which dropped her from 97% to 75% for her height... which is still pretty great! She passed all of her "skills" tests - even though she isn't crawling the Dr. said she is completely healthy and on target in her development. He said that belly of hers is probably a pretty big hinderance to her crawling but she'll get there! HA! However, she has started to pull up on things so she can do her new favorite thing - STAND! She loves standing up and she's even starting to "cruise" while holding on to the couch. If we put a toy at one end of the couch and place her standing at the other eventually (with a few falls in between) she will work her way to get the toy and when she does you would think she won the lottery. We both starts screaming and clapping and laughing - it is just so fun! I absolutely LOVE getting to watch her discover and experience new things! The Dr. also told us we need to start introducing her to "table foods" but I'm pretty nervous about how to go about doing that. I mean, what do I give her? How much do I give her? Do I let her feed herself or do I still have to spoon feed her myself or is it a mixture? Can she really eat the same food Shane and I eat? She only has 4 teeth for crying out loud - what can she possibly eat? So... for those moms out there who have gone before me in this area any advice and help is MUCH appreciated. :)

Our monthly birthday picture. You can't see all of the poster because I had to put it about 3 feet behind her because she kept trying to grab it and play with it and that was making it very difficult to get any pictures!

Standing on the couch and so excited she got the rooster!

closest we are getting to her crawling... which in reality, isn't very close.

After her failed attempts to crawl she just wanted to stand and play with her new "dance" toy!

Messy, Messy Biscuits...

Jorja is really beginning to get the hang of finger foods so we bought her these crackers called Biter Biscuits. The first time she tried them she wasn't too sure about them because they are pretty hard and she had to gnaw on it for a while before she could really eat it. And after a short while she ended up giving up...

But then... we thought we would give it another try another day and WOW - maybe we should have let her give up because these are the absolute MESSIEST things EVER. She had stuff ALL over her face and hands and then of course everything she touched. It was nuts. But, she loved them and we loved watching her.

All Done...

I think one of the reasons Jorja loved those biscuits so much is because her favorite thing to do is take a bath and it was a surefire way to make sure she got one! She was so happy!!

Family Portraits by Studio G Photography

I have been meaning to post these for FOREVER (sorry Jenn). Back in January Shane and I took a trip to San Antonio to visit one of my best friends in the world - Jennifer Lankford and her husband Erik and their foster (soon to be adopted - wink, wink) children, Hadleigh and Isaac. We had such a great time hanging out with them but one of the "perks" of visiting with them is that Jennifer is a professional photographer. I love having talented friends! :) After taking Jorja to the studio SEVERAL times for family portraits and walking out with ZERO pictures, I called up Jenn and told her - we MUST come see you and have you take pics of us because Jorja is just not feeling the studios in Dallas! :) And while we had quite a difficult time getting Jorja to cooperate for the pictures (she wouldn't smile and had many tears) - Jenn, and all her amazing talent, captured some of my MOST favorite pics of Jorja EVER! I couldn't be more happy with how these pictures turned out. Jenn - you are truly amazing! Everyone please check out their blog to the right - Studio G Photography!!!

My little porcelain doll - I love this picture!
Daddy's Girl!

This is probably one of my favorites too simply because it SO sums up our lives... me and Shane trying to be calm, cool, collected... Jorja absolutely not paying attention to us and in her own world playing with her dress. This is our lives on so many different levels. Oh the comedy!
So in love... BEST 7 years of my life!
These next pictures are what we had Jenn take for Valentines Day. I really can't pick a favorite because they are ALL so awesome!! She is just TOO  cute.
I am so in love with her... and her arm rolls... :)
Oh, those cheeks... and you can't tell because the picture is a bit small on here but her eyes in this picture are AMAZING. So blue and beautiful.
Umm... Jorja - your prince has already come, his name is DADDY!
Well, I know you have a hard time believing this looking at all these pictures (again, Jenn did an amazing job) BUT Jorja was quite the fussy pants during the photo shoot. We were trying to get 4 pictures of Jorja with the letters L-O-V-E but she was having none of that. So, Jenn got smart and turned her around and let her cry while she still shot the letters from behind... and it turned out pretty darn cute.
